My Church Website is now a BLOG

Wow... Glad Tidings PJ's website is now a BLOG, powered by Wordpress!! How awesome is that? I guess in keeping with the times and to make a website interactive, the church has made its website into a blog format.

For the untrained eye, it will still look very much like a website to you, but to bloggers out there, its a BLOG!!!


I think the coolest thing for us is that we can now comment on the posts, that's posted on the website. That will make it interactive and thus drawing more traffic to the website.

Advertlets auto forwards to AdBaaz

It was funny when i logged into advertlets.com this morning and to find that they seem to have a new layout.

Then when i looked closer i realized that at the top of the webpage, that the Advertlets Domain has expired!!



I was like NOooooooooooooo!!! How come advertlets website is down? I hope its only temporal.



When i googled "Advertlets expired" i found Danny Foo's website explaining that two things that was happening, one was that the domain for Advertlets was expired and secondly if u had the Advertlets code on your blog, it was forwarding it to some funny adbaaz site!!

And the first comment on Danny's Blog was from Josh Lim who said that Advertlets was not closed!! I am glad to hear it.. but i sure do hope that Advertlets fixes its domain problem fast!!!



So what to do?

I didn't want all my web traffic to go do adbaaz.com so the next best thing to do was to go to all my blogs ... sigh one by one .. and remove all the Advertlets code from it!

No choice lor ... it was a painful process .... rather it was long and tedious cos the codes were in some of the Widgets in the Page Element and then there were some codes that was in the HTML section!!!

So aiyoh lah ... step by step have to remove them until it was all gone!!

Otherwise .... if you tried to come to this blog, it would have auto directed you to some funny website on adbaaz!

I do hope that Advertlets fixes the problem fast and that the domain / site will be stable!!

Let's see what happens next!!

I DISLIKE Collecting Mails from Pos Laju

I find this really really irritating!! I dunno why Pos Laju works this way, .... but each time when they try and send things to our home, and if we're not in, they would redirect the Pos Laju item to ..... SHAH ALAM!!

AIYOH!! How can it be so so far? So three days ago we received this Pos Laju slip. Called the Pos Laju Shah Alam on Friday and they said the would move it to the Brickfields Pos Laju by Sunday.

Meanwhile .. i was like .. who is mailing me Pos Laju stuff? Its so irritating, cos have to go and collect it from their office. I was like.... it better be a nice thing ..... and not some junk mail by a bank or credit card.

So on Sunday evening, i thot, hmmm i've got some time to spare, why don't i go pick it up. Drove all the way to Brickfields, .... brave the traffic jam in Bangsar (yes .. jam at 7ish on a Sunday nite!) and when I reached Pos Laju at Brickfields ..... guess what? TUTUP!!!! SIGH!!

Really one. .. SIGH!!

I was thinking, this Pos Laju thingy better be goooood!

Then today whilst at the office, i received a call .. .guess who? Josh called to see if we have received the Advertlets check and the pressies. I was like .. No .. not yet. U mean Advertlets have sent something?

Then the Light Bulb lit, Josh ... did u by any chance send the Advertlets check via Pos Laju this time?

OOooooh, and found out that was the "THING-lah" that's been causing so much grieve to collect the past days!

Josh ... thank you for the check. I mean ... GOOD THING it was a check that i was collecting and not some other flyers or brochures!! :)
[Josh if u ever get to read this ..... can u send the next check via normal mail pleeeeeze!!]

They are still coming .... to see Jeanne Abdullah

Contrary to my belief, the hits are still coming in!! :) hehe

I wanted to enhance the hits on the page by posting up the Video clip where our dear PM A Badawi was on TV declaring his marriage to Jeanne Abdullah. Alas, I couldnt find in on YouTube, though i saw it playing on a website. [Errr... if u find it share it!!]

I just thot this will be a good follow up to yesterday's post. When I drill down using StatCounter, the TOP POST was still "Jeanne Abdullah's Photo ~ Pak Lah's Bride!! "

And this time when I checked where did they come from? It was the Yahoo Search Engine sending them over to delephant! How Cool is that. Ranked Second in the Yahoo Search!!

Hmmmm ...... i wonder how DAY 3 would be? Let's tune back to delephant tomorrow nite!

Have you Verified your site with Google? Its Free

Stumbled upon this Free Google Offering, which will help us list our websites securely with Google and to ensure that Google Verify it!

Prior to this I didnt realize that Google had to verify our website. And since Google is the BEST BEST BEST Search Engine in the world ... I am gonna verify all my blogs under it! :) hehe

Step 1 : Go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/sitestatus

Step 2 : Log in with your Google log in

Step 3 : Add your Blog/Website URL

Step 4 : Verify Your Site. Choose either to Verify by adding a html file to your domain, or adding Meta Tags to your site. (If blurr like me, click on the help "?" to guide u)

DONE!! :)


At Step 3, Google will also display

• Whether Pages from your site are included in Google's index
• When googlebot accessed your home page
• Potential indexing problems

Quite interesting ... if u have not done this before! So what u waiting for go VERIFY!!!

How do obtain over 1,000+ hits in one day for your Blog

Do you know how you can obtain over 900+ unique visitors for one day on your blog?

Do you know how you can obtain over 1000+ hits on your blog in just one day?

Do you know that my increase in hits is over 5,415% in just one day?


The average hits on delephant is humbly 20+ a day, on good days mebbe 50+.

But today StatsCounter recorded a whooping record for our blog. 10 mins to midnight, and we have hit over 1,103 hits!

Let me share with you:

I blogged about Jeanne Abdullah, and shared with PPS a photo of Jeanne that i received. Reason for sharing was becos when i was desperately trying to see how she looked like in Bernama's website, their site was down. (most prob due to the same reason ... everyone was looking for her)

And of course the other factor that helped tremendously, was that EVERYONE seems to be searching for Jeanne Abdullah, check out Google, delephant is currently in 5th position. 3 steps behind Bernama.com, not bad huh?

SO...... the answer to all the above questions ... blog about the latest craze in your country. And try to blog about it from a different point of view. I am sure most bloggers would talk about our PM, Pak Lah, the marriage ... etc. I blogged about Jeanne Abdullah! :) hehe

War of Nuffnang and Adverlets .. and the Winner is ... Nuffverlets!

Nuffnang started in Feb 2007, and Advertlets started just a month after that.

Since then, there's been so much debate on which Blog Advertiser is better, which Blog Advertiser can provide more ads, which Blog Advertiser is more giving to the community and supportive to the Bloggers. In addition, new rules were suggested that Bloggers must remain exclusive loyal to only one Blog Advertiser, in order to get advertising on your blog!!

My two cents :

• I believe Malaysia is big enough to sustain two Blog Advertisers
• I believe to have competition is extremely healthy for the Blog Advertisers, which will be beneficial for the Bloggers and the Advertisers
• And why must either Nuffnang or Advertlets win? Why can't Nuffnang, Advertlets and the Malaysian Blogger scene win? I believe in the end we will all WIN! :)
• Finally ... i love both Nuffnang and Advertelts. They are both unique on their own style and techniques. And we should all live together in a "healthy competitive" environment.

Hmmmm .... how does this work?

Amazing!!! Logged on to Advertlets.com today and guess what we discovered when we clicked on the Dashboard?

Amazing MHN Stats, Averaging 500 - 600 hits a Day

This is amazing! MHN (or Malaysian Hotel News) was only averaging 150 hits a day for the longest time!

And suddenly there was this surge of hits that been's raining down on MHN!! We're reviewing the Stats, but its not telling much! But whatever it is, its good for us! :)

Check out the MHN Stats above for this week's hits! Today's 686 hits (and the day has not ended yet) is MHN's all time High!! :) Woo Hoo!

Its also pretty interesting to see that 70% of the people are from Malaysia, and that Singapore is hitting 15% and UK (of all places) is hitting 8%!! Woo Hoo! Let's hope the VMY2007 helps drive the continuous seach for Malaysian Hotel & Tourism News!

MHN Averaging Healthy Stats - 300+

One of our other Blog, Malaysian Hotel News or MHN have been receiving Healthy Statistics recently. On an average 300-350 hits a day for the last two weeks. :)

We know that MHN cannot compare with SNS's demand and therefore we are glad to see the daily hits maintaining to above 300+. Another good sign is that the Unique Visitors are also quite high. :)

Perhaps its the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 (VMY2007) which is the big draw to hospitality, hotel, tourism and travel-related news.

Our First Google Ad Sense Check!

Woo Hoo!! After attempting to start our very first Blog in June 2006, we are very happy to see that we've added a couple more Blogs to our list.

We have SNS, MHN, NU, DT, dareNtiff and of course this blog!!

If we were to break down the Blog by category. ... we guess this would be the best way to explain the six blogs that own.

Well after playing around with Blogs and the concept of Blogs, we were introduced to Google Adsense. We tested out Google Adsense in end September, and only started using it starting October 2006. It was pretty weird then, cos Blogger was going thru a revamp from Blogger to New Blogger Beta. But we stuck with it .. and just carried on.

Now after Four Months ... we are pretty glad to see that we have received our very first check from Google. :) YAY!!!

New Problem

Err .... since its only a small sum of USD100 .. .anyone has any suggestions how do we bank it? Or any experience ones out there who can gives some tips on which local bank in Malaysia has the lowest service charges or how do we go about it ? .. .. .. .etc
