Glad Tidings on NST Headlines

Wah.. when i saw the headlines on the NST today, i thought our church Glad Tidings Petaling Jaya was featured for one of our outstanding contribution to the community. :)

And its true its certainly ... Glad Tidings for all consumers that Jesus came to the earth and set us all FREE from sin! :) Or rather that was what i was hoping from the News article today.

Unfortunately ... or perhaps it was some positive news ... but not really "Glad Tidings" in its entirety. Petrol price has come down to RM2.00 per litre.

Here's the FULL page of the NST. :) Check it out!

Super Traffic Jam this Weekend at Church - Jalan 13/4

I can imagine how bad and terrible the traffic jam will be in church this weekend.

There will be so so so so many people and so so so so many cars on Jalan Bersatu 13/4.

WHY?

Cos there will be TWO major warehousesales happening on that Jalan 13/4. One is directly opposite church - MPH, and the other is just next door - Zara, Massimo Dutti & Pull and Bear!

And to top it there are already 3 churches in that area ... with GTPJ, the Chinese Church next door and DUMC just across the road!

Wooo Hooo ... everyone should plan early and come in early this week to church, otherwise you may just waste 20-30 minutes on the road trying to get in!

The good part is that after church . .can go shopping :)

Found a Website with LOTS of Cool & Free Ringtones

A friend recomended me to check out Zedge.net I thought it was another one of those websites that offered a few free ringtones. But after checking it out today ... its a fantastic website!

I think its pronounce "Zee Edge" and i like their concept. You sign in for FREE, and after doing that Zedge would allow you to upload or download ringtones, themes, games, videos for your mobile phones. They even have a forum section for you check out more serious things if you need to.

What i like best is that most of my ringtones or rather message tones (tones for my SMS) are all online. Meaning to say that i normally have the latest and its already online! I think its working really great for Zedge is because people can share their ringtones freely and easily. The interface on the website is also very neat and very well organized.

Come classic cool ringtones/message tones
[yes u can listen to the songs without registering)

Well you get the idea ... go visit www.zedge.net for more goodies for your handphone!!!

:) ENJOY

Bonuslink Bejewelled E-Game - I scored 225 points!

Bonuslink Game

Have you tried it yet?

I just logged in this morning and tried the Bonuslink E-Game. Its totally similiar to the all loved Bejewelled game, except that instead of jewels you see logos of Bonuslink's sponsors!

You just need to log in and register (need to have Bonuslink Number) and then you all set to play. They give you 3 levels, and each must be completed in 30 seconds! So match 3 or more tiles either horizontally or vertically and get points!!

In my lame attempts this morning, i scored 225 points!! I will definitely play again and see if I can get some higher points!! I think Bonuslink should make it more competitive and highlight the Top 3 Highest Points for the day, so that we all know how much we need to "beat" in order to score some big reward with Bonuslink!!

Bonuslink Game2

This is the Main Log-In Screen.

Just register it online and in 1 minute you can play the game!

Can you beat my score of 225?

Fireworks @ Ikano + Merdeka Traffic Jam @ Persiaran Surian

Happy Merdeka everyone!!!

We witnessed some happening fireworks from Ikano!! The fireworks lit up the sky for about 12-15 mins. We did not want to go anywhere near Ikano or The Curve area, we had frens telling us how bad the traffic was to get there.

Here are some pictures we caught tonite!!

Fireworks at Ikano Power Centre

Merdeka Fireworks Ikano Power Center

The Fireworks were really cool!

I wonder how much they burn in those 12 minutes!!

BUT it was really beautiful.

IMG_3175

Here's another shot of the Fireworks.

Pity my Digital Camera is a pretty old one

and don't have all the special knobs to captuer it better.

IMG_3167 IMG_3164

See the Traffic Jam on the left side of the Picture

on Persiaran Surian, whilst the Fireworks were happilly

shooting up new sprays of design on the Top Right of the pictures.

IMG_3187

Makes you kinda glad that you were no where near Ikano

Power Centre & The Curve at this point in time, huh?

IMG_3155

This shot, i was playing with the exposure

and it sure looks like there's a fire over yonder!! :)

IMG_3197 IMG_3158

See how bad the Traffic was even after the Fireworks.

Cars were just lined up for kilometres .. in the direction towards

Ikano & The Curve!!

How to Spruce Up your Colleagues Cubicle When they are Away!!

Are there some of your colleagues that are often away on Business Trips or constantly away taking MCs and Emergency Leaves?

Well here are some brilliant ideas on what you can do to their Cubicles when they are away to help Spruce up Life and Fun in the Office.

Things to do when your colleagues are away

#1 – Leave them some flowers

#2 – Leave them some To-Do memos

#3 – Spruce up their work area with some creative décor

#4 – Everyone loves presents!

Unwrapping presents is half the fun!

#5 – Clean their workspace.

And to make sure it stays clean, protect it with something.

#6 – Let them know you looked after their workspace while they were gone

and kept “undesirables” at bay.

#7 – Hand-made gifts. We all love them.

A little masking tape and some styrofoam goes a long way!

#8 – And finally…

If they’ve had a bit of an “extended” leave,

remind them that not much has changed since they’ve been gone.

Staff of Mandarin Oriental Plant Trees at Rimba Ilmu, UM

Today was our opportunity to give back to the environment. The Environmental Committee of Mandarin Oriental organized a Tree Planting day today at Rimba Ilmu of Universiti Malaya.

It was a great day today for planting trees. The sun was up and shining and a group of us were ready to get down and dirty! (yeah rite!)

This is our Environmental Logo.
Pretty cool huh? We had a contest recently, and this won the top prize.
It reads .... The good is beauty. The green is eternity.
Which was orginally written in Bahasa, and translated to English. (That's why its a bit ick-ish)
Yang elok itu Seni. Yang hijay itu Seri.

We started the day with a Breifing from an Officer of UM.
He took us thru the types of Rain Forest Trees in Malaysia.

Actually it was a great educational time. I learned that there were so many
species of trees in Malaysia that is totally unique to our country and can't be found
anywhere else in the world.

Hahahaa .... Veronica ... was like Hey .. don't let the Sun hurt me.

Where's the Shade ah? :)

We collected 11 Trees or rather saplings of various size and types.
With wheel barrows, trolleys, cangkuls and some other tools, we divided the
stuff and journeyed into the JUNGLE!

Ahhh ..... yes.. i actually did some work. This was one of the tallest trees
that we were gonna plant. It was really heavy and we had to use this Orange Trolley
to transport it into the Rimba Ilmu.

Its like a walk into the Jurassic Park.
Rimba Ilmu ... Knowledge Jungle ... Hmmmmm ....
Its a really good place to visit .. esp most of you reading this would most probably not know
that not too far from SS2 and Sect 14 .. in the North Western section of UM, there's a Rimba Ilmu. :) hehe ... its a good experience to step into this place.

Al the trees are labeled with their scientific names and with additional comments on them.

Here we go .... Planting a Tree by a Stream. (you can't really see the stream behind this team)
We had to learn to mark a circle in the ground, cangkul the earth out, had to ensure that the depth of the earth is even with the tree's base, remove the black plastic from the tree base, put it in, and slowly cover back the earth!!
Yay ... we planted a Tree!

Here's another effort to plant the tree by some other shurbs.
This is where we get down and dirty!!

Mashita showing us how to use the Cangkul.
Couldn't help take this shot as she chewed on a Saga Seed plant whilst
cangkul-ing earth to plant the tallest tree of the day.

Yups ... this is the tree that I pulled earlier.
Although it looked so thin and fine... this tree is actually 10 years old.
YUPS!!!
So the UM Officer asked us to come back and visit one day.
Yeah man ... we can come back when we are 60 years old to see the fruit of our labor! :) hehe

Another effort of planting a Tree at the end of the end of the trail.
We had walked like 40 minutes into the Rimba Ilmu.

Ohhh ... we met some kids from UNICEF who were volunteering their Saturday to help the environment as well. They were helping to pull out weeds from the stream.

They really worked hard .. jumping into the stream and pulling out the weeds.
Forming a human chain to pass the weeds to a central place for disposal!! Coool!!!
So all in all.... it was our Day for the Environment.
Great education on different plant species and the knowledge of our trees in Malaysia.
Let's go GREEEEEEEEEEEEN !!!
