Rick Warren Prays for Barrack Obama at the 44th President Inauguration

This must be one of the MOST Watched Presidential Inauguration in the history of the world. It was amazing to see the sea of people cheering at the 44th US Presidential Inauguration.

What stood out for me was the fact that Rick Warren got chosen to do the opening prayer at the inauguration. I loved his opening prayer as he declared in front of millions ....

“Almighty God, Everything we see and everything that we can’t see belongs to you, exist for Your Glory ....!”

Focus on the Family eliminating 202 jobs

This is sad to see that Focus on the Family are laying off individuals. But i guess the situation in USA is tough and its affecting all industries across the globe.

Because of a weak economy and cash-strapped donors, Focus on the Family said it is eliminating 202 jobs, the deepest cuts in the 32-year history of the Colorado Springs-based Christian nonprofit. The ministry laid off 149 workers, and cut another 53 vacant positions.

The cuts announced Monday slash Focus' local workforce by nearly 18 percent - from about 1,150 to 950. Twenty percent of the cuts are in management.

The layoffs come just weeks after Focus announced it was outsourcing 46 jobs from its distribution department. Focus also laid off 30 workers and reassigned 15 more in September 2007.

The organization also cut its the budget from $160 million in fiscal 2008 to $138 million for fiscal 2009 in anticipation of tough times.

The reason for the layoffs and budget revisions Donations are down, and Focus relies almost entirely on the charity of others.

That problem is reverberating throughout the nonprofit sector, said Colorado Springs Economic Development Corp. president Mike Kazmierski.

"It's probably going to get worse," he said. "When people have to cut back, the only place they have to go is their discretionary income."

Glenn Williams, Focus' chief operating officer, said that more than 95 percent of the organization's income comes from donations, with book sales accounting for the remainder. Donations to Focus set a record high in fiscal 2008, he said. But donations began to decline in October, which starts Focus' new fiscal year, and after polling major donors, Focus expects this holiday season - normally the most lucrative time of the year for nonprofits - to be even more painful to the bottom line.

"Looking at October trends and talking to donors who are not in a position where they can give, we thought we'd be facing a more severe decision in January or February if we waited," Williams said.

The cuts are taking place throughout the organization. The most visible change will be the elimination of the print editions of four of its eight magazines.

The content of the magazines - Plugged In, Breakaway, Brio and Brio & Beyond - will remain online.

Plugged In, for example, has seen its print subscriber base dip to 30,000 while its Web site attracts 1 million unique visitors a month, Williams said.

Macroeconomic realities and changing technology - not the political cycle - drove the decisions, said Focus spokesman Gary Schneeberger.

A separate political arm, Focus on the Family Action, sees its funding ebb when there are no elections on the horizon, but that's not the case with Focus on the Family.

Although Focus grabs most of its headlines on political topics, it spends only 6 percent of its budget in that arena, such as the roughly $500,000 the organization spent to support the Proposition 8 gay marriage ban in California.

The other 94 percent of its budget is dedicated to its far less sensational mission of dispensing parenting and marital advice via Dobson's radio broadcasts, as well as through books, magazines and Web sites.

Schneeberger said the money earmarked for this year's political battles did not affect the pot of money for employees.

"It's a sign of the times," Kazmierski concluded. "In the case of Focus, we believe it's part of the economy, and as the economy recovers we expect a lot of those jobs to come back."

In the meantime, the 149 laid-off employees will enter a tough job market in the Colorado Springs metro area, where job growth is flat and unemployment has crept up over 6 percent.

And its true its certainly ... Glad Tidings for all consumers that Jesus came to the earth and set us all FREE from sin! :) Or rather that was what i was hoping from the News article today.

Unfortunately ... or perhaps it was some positive news ... but not really "Glad Tidings" in its entirety. Petrol price has come down to RM2.00 per litre.

Super Traffic Jam this Weekend at Church - Jalan 13/4

I can imagine how bad and terrible the traffic jam will be in church this weekend.

There will be so so so so many people and so so so so many cars on Jalan Bersatu 13/4.

WHY?

Cos there will be TWO major warehousesales happening on that Jalan 13/4. One is directly opposite church - MPH, and the other is just next door - Zara, Massimo Dutti & Pull and Bear!

And to top it there are already 3 churches in that area ... with GTPJ, the Chinese Church next door and DUMC just across the road!

Wooo Hooo ... everyone should plan early and come in early this week to church, otherwise you may just waste 20-30 minutes on the road trying to get in!

The good part is that after church . .can go shopping :)

Petrol Prices Cut by 15 cents 10 Days Early

This is an amazing change!

The petrol prices came down by 15 Cents today, which is a 10 days earlier than what the Govt was supposedly to do. The last we read was that petrol prices will only be reviewed by September!!

Decision driven politically (Permatang Pauh Elections)?

Govt claim its not!

But honestly even if the Petrol Prices decrease, how would that effect the elections at Permatang Pauh? So why did the prices drop? Let's wait and see the news next week.

The prices of diesel and petrol have been reduced by between eight and 22 sen a litre from today, 10 days earlier than expected.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said RON97 petrol now costs RM2.55 a litre, a drop of 15 sen from RM2.70 a litre while the price of RON92 went down by 22 sen to RM2.40 a litre.

A petrol station in Petaling Jaya is almost empty as customers delayed fuelling up their vehicles during the few hours before petrol and diesel prices went down at midnight yesterday. Similar scenes were repeated throughout the country. — SHAARI CHEMAT / The Star

Diesel will cost eight sen less at RM2.50 a litre.

Abdullah said in a statement yesterday the Cabinet decided to bring forward the “floating” price mechanism for fuel after considering the drop in global oil prices over the past few weeks as well as higher inflation in July.

He hoped the reduced fuel prices would lighten the people’s burden and ease the inflationary pressure on the lower and middle-income groups.

The new prices were set after considering fuel prices between Aug 1 and Aug 21, and in view of the Government’s decision to set the subsidy at 30 sen a litre for RON97 and RON92, and 50 sen a litre for diesel.

On June 4, the Government announced a 78-sen increase in petrol to RM2.70 a litre and a RM1 increase in diesel to RM2.58 a litre, stating that it could no longer continue to subsidise fuel.

On Aug 1, Abdullah said the petrol price would be reviewed monthly from Sept 1 based on the average global market price and the subsidy will be fixed at 30 sen a litre.

He gave an assurance that the petrol price would not exceed RM2.70 a litre for this year, even if the global market price went up.

In Bachok later, Abdullah said the decision to lower the retail petrol and diesel prices was made as the Government wanted the people to benefit from the current global market depreciation of crude oil prices.

Apart from that, the Government also wanted to rein in inflation as the Consumer Price Index (CPI) shot up to 8.5% last month compared to a year ago.

“There is a possibility that the prices may go up so it would be a waste if we do not lower our prices now. This is to take advantage of the current lower global prices,” he said after opening a kenaf plant centre.

Abdullah said if there was a need to increase the fuel price again this year, the Government would cap it at RM2.70.

“We did it for the entire country and not just for the folks in Permatang Pauh,” he said.

Abdullah also expects the prices of goods to fall.

In PUTRAJAYA, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Samad said the Government’s decision to lower fuel prices earlier than expected was due to the rising inflation rate and not because it wanted to win the votes of the Permatang Pauh constituents.

“Permatang Pauh is not going to change the Government but reviewing the prices is something that we had planned earlier,” he told a press conference.

“It is a strong indicator of the burden that the rakyat is forced to bear. There is nothing wrong for us to pass the benefit of lower fuel prices to the consumers and it is the duty of a responsible government to do so,” Shahrir added.

Top Hamas Leader's Son Converts to Christianity

The son of a top Hamas leader has converted to Christianity and prays someday his family will also accept Jesus Christ as their savior, an Israeli newspaper reported.

Masab Yousef, son of West Bank Hamas leader Sheik Hassan Yousef, revealed for the first time in an exclusive interview with Haaretz newspaper that he has left Islam and is now a Christian. Prior to the interview's publication last Thursday, Yousef's family did not know of his faith conversion even though he is in regular contact with them.

"[T]his interview will open many people's eyes, it will shake Islam from the roots, and I'm not exaggerating," Yousef, who now resides in the United States, said. "What other case do you know where a son of a Hamas leader, who was raised on the tenets of extremist Islam, comes out against it?"

Yousef, who is now 30-years-old, was first exposed to Christianity eight years ago while in Jerusalem where out of curiosity he accepted an invitation to hear about Christianity. Afterwards, he became "enthusiastic" about what he heard and would secretly read the Bible every day.

"A verse like 'Love thine enemy' had a great influence on me," Yousef recalled. "At this stage I was still a Muslim and I thought that I would remain one. But every day I saw the terrible things done in the name of religion by those who considered themselves 'great believers.'

"I studied Islam more thoroughly and found no answers there. I re-examined the Koran and the principals of the faith and found how it is mistaken and misleading."

But with Christianity, Yousef said he could understand God as revealed through Jesus Christ. He said he could talk about God and Jesus for days, but Muslims are not able to say anything about God.

"I consider Islam a big lie," said the son of one of Hamas' founders. "The people who supposedly represent the religion admired Mohammed more than God, killed innocent people in the name of Islam, beat their wives and don't have any idea what God is.
"I have no doubt that they'll go to hell. I have a message for them: There is only one way to Paradise – the way of Jesus who sacrificed himself on the cross for all of us."

Four years ago, Yousef decided to convert to Christianity but did not let his family know. He still helped his father with his political activities, and his father only knew his son had Christian friends.

"I felt responsible. It was better for me to be there rather than a gang of fools who would poison his mind," Yousef explained. "I tried to understand those people, their thoughts, in order to change them from inside by means of a strong person like my father, who admitted to me in the past that he does not support suicide attacks."

Yousef described his father as a moderate Hamas leader.

But even before his encounter with Christianity, Yousef had already become disenchanted with Hamas and Islam while being imprisoned at the age of 18 years old for heading a youth Islamic movement at his high school.

He described the Hamas leaders he met in prison as people with "no morals" and "no integrity," although they hide their corruption better than Fatah party members.

"Nobody knows them and how they operate as well as I do," Yousef said, recalling how the family of Hamas members killed by Israel were forced to beg for financial assistance while the leadership "abandoned" them and "wasted" tens of thousands of dollars a month only on security for themselves.

"Then (in prison) I understood that not everyone in Hamas is like my father. He's a nice, friendly man. But I discovered how evil his colleagues are," Yousef said. "After my release I lost the faith I had in those who ostensibly represented Islam."

Hamas is considered a terrorist group by the United States, Israel, and many Western countries. The group has publicly vowed to destroy Israel.

Now Yousef, the eldest son of Sheikh Yousef, says he "admires" Israel.

"You Jews should be aware: You will never, but never have peace with Hamas," Yousef stated. "Islam, as the ideology that guides them, will not allow them to achieve a peace agreement with the Jews. They believe that tradition says that the Prophet Mohammed fought against the Jews and that therefore they must continue to fight them to the death."
He denounced the "entire" Palestinian society as one that "sanctifies death and the suicide terrorist."

"In Palestinian culture a suicide terrorist becomes a hero, a martyr. Sheiks tell their students about the 'heroism of the shaheeds (martyr).'"

Yousef highlighted that Hamas was the first to use suicide bombers as weapons against civilians.

"They (Hamas) are blind and ignorant. It's true, there are good and bad people everywhere, but Hamas supporters don't understand that they are led by a wicked and cruel group that brainwashes the children and gets them to believe that if they carry out a suicide attack they'll get to Paradise," he said.

The Muslim-turned-Christian says he does not think Islam will survive for more than 25 years because the truth about Islam will be exposed given the mass communication available in the modern age.

For his part, Yousef says he hopes to "open the eyes" of Muslims and "reveal the truth" to them about Islam and Christianity with the goal to "take them out of the darkness and the prison of Islam."

"In that way they'll have an opportunity to correct their mistakes, to become better people and to bring a chance for peace in the Middle East," he said.

Yousef, who has taken the biblical name of Joseph, said he dreams of one day becoming a writer to tell his personal story and about the Middle East conflicts.

"But at the moment, at least, my ambitions are only to find work, a place to live," Yousef admits. "I have no money, I have no apartment," said the son of the Hamas leader who left behind properties in Ramallah to find true freedom.
"I was about to become one of those homeless people [in the United States]," he confessed, "but people from the church are helping me. I'm dependent on them."

He also dreams that someday he can return to his homeland and his family will accept Jesus Christ.

"I know that I'm endangering my life and am even liable to lose my father, but I hope that he'll understand this and that God will give him and my family patience and willingness to open their eyes to Jesus and to Christianity," Yousef said. "Maybe one day I'll be able to return to Palestine and to Ramallah with Jesus, in the Kingdom of God."

WOO HOO!! Krispy Kreme is coming to Malaysia!!

I was literally jumping when i read yesterday's Sun Newspaper.

Krispy Kreme is coming to town. Krispy Kreme will be in Malaysia!! Yay! Double YAY!!

Won't need to hassel all my Aussie friends to buy a box of Krispy Kreme when they come back to KL!

We first experienced Krispy Kreme in 2004, when we visited Kevin in Dallas, USA.

Kevin & Tawnya brought Tiff to a Krispy Kreme outlet (i was out doing something, my biggest regret!!! ) and she saw how the dough was turn magically into a Doughnut.

What was amazingly special about Krispy Kreme was that the doughnut literally MELTS in your mouth. And they were giving the doughnuts away FREE, as u walked in to see the production line. So the Doughnuts were delicious, the doughnuts were FREE, and they were pipping hot, cos it just came out from the production line!!

Oooh la la... can't wait, can't wait!

If you think that J&Co looks full all the time, wait till you see the first Krispy Kreme outlet opens in KL!! I wish they will open the Outlets soon!! (newspaper said in 2009!!)

The worldfamousKrispy Kreme Doughnut stores will soon be opening their doors in Malaysia.

This follows the signing of a development agreement between Berjaya Corporation Bhd (BCorporation) and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc on Aug 8.

BCorporation through its 70% owned subsidiary Berjaya Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Sdn Bhd was granted the rights to develop and operate Krispy Kreme stores in Malaysia by Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc.

BKK plans to open 20 Krispy Kreme stores in Malaysia within the next five years. The first outlet is scheduled to be opened Kuala Lumpur early next year.

More outlets will be opened in the Klang Valley followed by other major cities and towns in Malaysia. BCorporation is well known for developing and operating famous international food and beverage brands. It currently holds the franchise for Starbucks Coffee, Kenny Rogers Roasters and Wendy’s.

In June this year, BCorporation acquired the Papa John’s pizza franchise.

BCorporation chairman and CEO Tan Sri Vincent Tan said the addition of Krispy Kreme will strategically complement and widen his company’s existing food and beverage operations.

“We are delighted to enter into a franchise relationship with Krispy Kreme and be part of its international expansion in Asia,” he said.

“Krispy Kreme is very popular in Japan, South Korea and the Philippines and we expect Krispy Kreme to do well in Malaysia as well,” he added..

Krispy Kreme doughnuts, made from a secret recipe since 1937, appeal to people from all walks of life. Its signature hot Original Glazed® doughnut allows one to have a “melt in the mouth” experience. China Olympics Opening has done me PROUD!

I am so so impressed with what CHINA did with the opening of the Beijing Olympics last nite on 080808! It was really spectacular and amazingly beautiful.

The percision of drummers, the accuracy of the dancers, the amazing vertical-running people around the globe, the music & lights and fireworks, the amazing chereography of all the people moving in unison as ONE, was breath-taking.

Here are some pictures found online which are so colorful and so beautiful. Those who came and watch the Olympics Opening last nite at my place ... we were all so proud to say.... We are Chinese! :)

Stolen Petrol, Charities Decline & Proton NGV?

With the Fuel Increase ...... we see more things happening

People getting desperate, the petrol becoming more of a commodity that's hard to come by, or unless u have lots of money. Well if u don't have enough money to buy them, the next best thing to do is to STEAL the petrol. But don't do it a the well guarded petrol station, why don't you steal it from the all the Cars parked outside your local neighbourhood! Poor thing, several cars in Klang had their petrol siphoned out overnight!

With the fuel increase, even charities are facing a difficulty. People are not as generous in their giving as before, as everyone is cutting back on expenses. Sigh!

And yes the latest invention to come from our National Car makers .... PROTON!!

Watch out for it as its in much deliberation.

The PROTON NGV!! Yups Proton Cars like Proton Waja, Proton Saga, Proton Persona are most likely to be fittied with a NGV Kit!

This is to give car drivers an alternative to filling their cars with petrol. My only question is that Petronas is the only petrol station available with NGV (which is aka Natural Gas Vehicle), so i wonder if it was Petronas who suggested this to Proton? :) hehe

I guess in order for cars to be fitted with NGVs, we need more petrol station offering NGV top ups! :) I wonder how much rebate Citibank will give if we pump NGV with a credit card? :) hehe

How Fuel Increase is effecting the Travel Industry

The Fuel Increase is not just a Malaysia problem, its effecting so many countries regionally and globally. What's sad is that its also affecting my industry .. the Travel & Tourism industry.

And now that the Oil is at a Record US$140 per barrel, I wonder just how things will continue in the upcoming months?

Here are a few exerpts taken from various newspoints.

One big problem for Corporate or Business Hotels is that you see big cuts in corporate travel, where for the Airlines, Business Travelers now move to take on the Economy Class, and for the Hotels, Corporate Travelers are now told "Travel Only When Necessary!", this will add on to the slow occupancy% levels in hotels in the city! SIGH!

Malaysia is showing a strong decline in travel volumes, why? Because our Travel Packages are not attractive anymore. And that was a comment by a major Travel Agency of Malaysia. He goes on to say that we are a more expensive destination compared to HK & Bangkok! Some Travel Agents are also losing $$$ because of Ground Transport fees increase. More Sigh!

Airline tickets are also going up, MAS fuel surcharge is going up from USD340 to USD456!! And if it continues, you'll see MAS cutting down more travel routes, cos it will be toooooo expensive to maintain their flights. And now if we wanna travel from KL to India, the ticket surcharge will increase from RM288 to RM406! Wah Liau... who would wanna travel in the upcoming months? Unless you're really VERY Rich or its an Urgent need to be in that country. MAS has already declared that it will be a VERY TOUGH ride ahead.

So for those of you in the Travel & Tourism industry ... just brace yourself for the upcoming Tough Ride. Hang On and belt yourself tight! Get ready for a Super Wild Roller Coaster Ride!

Petrol Stations On Strike Tomorrow - A Hoax?!

We got messages yesterday that the Petrol Stations in Malaysia was gonna go on a Strike. The message was quickly pump up your cars cos they may go on strike for one or two days!

We were like huh? Again? What's all this about?

I am glad to see that its cleared up in today's news that the Petrol Station strike is a hoax! And what's more amazing, from the news it states that the rumour of the Petrol Station Strike was only to be in Sabah & Sarawak!

I am wondering how did the Petrol Stations in Sabah & Sarawak contort to all Petrol Stations in Malaysia. :) Rumours sure flies fast and changes easily!

On the other note on Credit Cards refusal at the Pumps, that's gonna be an absolute nuinsance, its definitely more convenient to punp and pay at the Pumps! How am i gonna get my 2.5% Cash Rebate off my Visa Wave then? Sigh!!! What's all these coming to?

Well ... just for the record, I did fill up my car with Petrol this morning.

Why? Cos it was on the fuel indication was showing "E". :)

Asian Goverment Subsidies for Petrol - Are we subsidised enought?

Some of the Asian government fuel subsidies are featured in the table above.

Despite Indonesia's price increase in May, they are surprisingly still the cheapest in the region. And China comes in as the second cheapest in Asia. That's not fair, they have so many more people and thus so many more vehicles on the road!

And third in line is us in Malaysia.

In the Sun article today, it claims that Petronas paid our goverment over RM336 billion over the last 33 years, thats RM10 billion a year. So the big question is why Petronas is unable to help absorb the rising cost of fuel despite their great profits.

Let's watch the fireworks in parliment!!

Oooooh can't wait for The Forbidden Kingdom. I mean its the best of the best of the best kung fu action stars fighting!! :) WOO HOO!!

Was trying to catch some cool wall papers of Jet Li & Jackie Chan in action, but unfortunately the official website only has boring single shot photos of the main characters. Sigh! They should have taken opportunity to have some cool fight scenes as wallpaper copies, i am sure more people would have downloaded them!!

Anyway . .its showing tomorrow on Malaysian shores, and i can't wait to go watch it!

Planet Shakers, Hillsong United, Passion 268 Concerts in Malaysia

2008 is an Amazing Year! This is the first time i believe in this history of Malaysia where three awesome Christian bands will be coming to bless the churches in Malaysia.

In April we have Planet Shakers doing a concert in both FGA & City Church KL.

In May we have Hillsong United doing a concert in Glad Tidings PJ.

In August we have Passion World Tour duing a concert in KL (venue to be advised).

And we're talking about key people like Joel Houston from Hills, Chris Tomlin and Louie Giglio will be gracing the shores of Malaysia. Its gonna be an awesome time of celebration and praise. So block the dates and get ready to celebrate.

New Stuff on my HTC TyTNII - SPC Mobile, Jeyo SMS & TouchPal

WOOOO HOOOO! I am really happy, managed to install three new applications on my HTC TyTNII today!! And I feel that it really brings my phone to the next level!!

I installed the SPC Mobile Shell, Jeyo Mobile Extender (SMS Application with Outlook) and TouchPal.

Wah liau all three applications are really brilliant. Let me give u a BRIEF on what they can do and why i absolutely LOVE it!

1. The first application that I installed today was the SPC Mobile Shell. Tks to Danny Tan, who showed off his HTC P3600i yesterday and i literally mean "SHOW OFF" his Now Screens. They are absolutely FAB and Super cool. They GUI makes it feel like the whole screen changes as if you're reading a book, where the page turns from left to right or right to left. And when you click on the folders, it just unfolds out!!

The above two screen shots really do not do justice, i was trying to find a gif animation to show u what i meant, but can't find it!! Boo Hoo! Come and check out my phone and u will know what i mean!!

2. The second application that i installed today was the TouchPal. If you read my earlier post, i thought i found the best T9 Keypad for a HTC Phone, the HTC PhonePad 1.0, but after listening to both Andrew & Daniel ... actually more of Daniel yesterday when he showcased what the Touch Pal could do, then i realize.. yups this is the BEST!!

First of all its a QWERTY Keyboard, which may look confusing at a glance, but after using it a bit, its so great, cos u can SLIDE on the keypad. For example if u look at the scren above, if u want to type number one, u press on the "q w" key and just slide up to get to "1". Its really fun and easy to use!

The ONE UP over PhonePad is that it can save all your own words. Well PhonePad allows u to save it temporary, but once u soft-reset its all gone. This one stays! :) U shud try it out if u are like me and love to type with one hand, and not use the stylus all the time.

3. The third application that i installed today was not on my HTC TyTNII, but rather on my Desktop PC. I finally found an application that syncs with your phone SMS, and its absolutely brilliant!! Its called the Jeyo Mobile Extender.

Well ... u can't really see much from it on this screen. The above is just a header of the Outlook 2007 tooldbar. And the Jeyo Mobile Extender just installs itself there. Each time u plug in your phone, it will automatically sync, and retrieve all your SMS from your phone into outlook!

The best part is that u can now send SMS out via Outlook! Its really brilliant!!

Actually the Bestest part for me is that i can now SAVE all my SMS! :) And still keep my phone inbox empty. WOO HOO!!

I love Windows Mobile Phones!! :)

I had the strangest email two days ago! A dude emailed me and asked me if i wanted to Convert my Lelong Points (or Lelong money) into REAL Cash!!

Ah but why not?

I checked out his lelong site and he's a hard core seller on lelong with dozens of pages selling almost anything u want.

I was curious why he wanted my Lelong Points?

And then he graciously replied that he needed the lelong points to help him pay off things that he auctions off on lelong.com.my

2008 Malaysian Cabinet of Curiousities

Wow ... an entire new line up of mostly new people that forms the new Malaysian Government. Almost a 50% change from the old and familiar faces. This reminds me of the book i read by Douglas Preston - The Cabinet of Curiousities, where each new drawer pulls out a different item that's stored in this amazing Cabinet.

I am hoping for the best, and that this new line up of new Cabinet Ministers will pave the nation ahead for a new and exciting start. I hope for justice and truth to triumph in our nation, and let's pray and watch how each new minister will fulfill their post and responsibilities and bring our developing Malaysia to a better and higher status.

My Church Website is now a BLOG

Wow... Glad Tidings PJ's website is now a BLOG, powered by Wordpress!! How awesome is that? I guess in keeping with the times and to make a website interactive, the church has made its website into a blog format.

For the untrained eye, it will still look very much like a website to you, but to bloggers out there, its a BLOG!!!

I think the coolest thing for us is that we can now comment on the posts, that's posted on the website. That will make it interactive and thus drawing more traffic to the website.

I guess there would be some you out there who are blurr like me, on where to go and vote for this coming elections on 8 March 2008?

Was trying to remember, if i updated my new home address or was it based on the old one. My previous vote was done in PJ - La Salle school.

Thankfully we can now check ONLINE - http://daftarj.spr.gov.my/ - and with a click of a button, it informs you where you vote, the name of the school and area for voting!! Quite SMART! :)

Can't wait for Indiana Jones - Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Ooooh can't wait for this movie to hit the screens! Have been a fan of Indiana Jones since a kid. Loved the action, fun and thrills of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade was shot ages ago.

I would never imagine them coming back to Indiana Jones and making a fourth movie, and the best part to have Harisson Ford playing a role in it! Awesome! I didnt realize that 19 years has passed since he took on the role as Indy! :)

Found a Shortcut to Activate Bluetooth on the TyTN II

I don't know why its done this way? But Bluetooth is one of the easiest way of sharing files and music with friends and its found on nearly all mobile phones these days.

But it takes me close to 5 to 6 clicks in order to activate it and to make it visible to others! Really really really irritating!!!

You would have thought that the basic functionality of switching on the Bluetooth should be right on the Today screen, so that anyone can just click on it and then have it running, and connecting to your bluetooth headset.

When i installed the Wisbar Advance 3, (will blog more about it another day) i thought i would have found the answer to the Bluetooth functionality. However despite its 1001 applications for launching, setting and communication, it lacked the "switch on Bluetooth!" SIGH!!

It was only today when i was browsing thru some Phone forums when i accidently discovered a new tool called the "Today Radio Device Toggler". Yups it doesnt sound really fance and it doesnt really have that drawing factor. It also has another name - "EFFComm plugin"

Best part its a FREEware plugin that you can download it from the internet (links below). If you look at the Capture Screen below, you will see right at the top of the Today Screen you have THREE functions:

1) Bluetooth OFF/ON

2) Wi-Fi OFF/ON

3) Phone OFF/ON

Its really cool and saves you lots of time from running here and there trying to switch on your Bluetooth button! :) Enjoy it!!

A Nice Big Clock for the Today Screen (TyTN II)

I really like the Big Digital Clock that comes built in with the HTC Today Screen on the TyTNII. But the HTC Today Screen is too BIG. It takes up nearly 1/3 of the Phone Screen with its various built-in apps.

As you can see from the Above screen shot, the Digital Clock is massive (and i like it so much), but its just that the Program Launchers that's built in into the HTC Today screen is just lacking in functionalities and limited in its customization.

Afer playing around with a couple of Laucnhers, i finally stuck with the SPB Pocket Plus 4.02 Launcher. Its totally radical with totally customizable buttons and applications and it has so many other cool tools that you can set it in!

I love the 5 Tabs that it gives you where you can put in all the various applications that you want to launch, you can group them by categories or by any order you want. U can choose your icons to be Large or Small with labels and without!! Its so so so coool! :)

So using SPB Pocket Plus really beats the HTC Today launcher. The only thing that i really miss is the big digital clock in HTC. Yes, I know that there's a tiny clock at the top on the Task Bar. But that's really tiny, i would like to see the time at a glance and .... from a distance! :)

After hunting for many many weeks, i finally stumbled on a FREEware Clock, which its pretty decent, and has a rather large digital clock (you can change it to the analog clock to if you prefer).

Its called the Dr Puttingham Samsung Time plug-in. Don't ask me why Dr Puttingham?

But why the Samsung Time? Cos this clock is taken from the Samsung BlackIce Phone. :)

If you look at the screen shot below, just ignore the blue background, and just imagine it as a plug-in clock for your Today Screen, where you can customize the location of it on your Today Screen. And its working really fine for me!!!

So i am now using the SPB Pocket Plus launcher but with the Samsung Time at the top! :)

Advertlets New Leaderboard Ad

I was always wondering when would Advertlets come up with a Bigger Ad Design that would fit on top of my blogs.

Was really happy when I received a mail from Josh today informing that a couple of us got selected to test out Advertlets New Leaderboard Ad Design.

The Leaderboard AD (i am sure u can see it on top) is 728 x 90 in size, and if i didn't read his message wrongly, the potential of cpm earnings would be much greater thru this ad size!!!

We're testing it out for now ... and i hope to see the earnings go up!! :)

Advertlets auto forwards to AdBaaz

It was funny when i logged into advertlets.com this morning and to find that they seem to have a new layout.

Then when i looked closer i realized that at the top of the webpage, that the Advertlets Domain has expired!!

I was like NOooooooooooooo!!! How come advertlets website is down? I hope its only temporal.

When i googled "Advertlets expired" i found Danny Foo's website explaining that two things that was happening, one was that the domain for Advertlets was expired and secondly if u had the Advertlets code on your blog, it was forwarding it to some funny adbaaz site!!

And the first comment on Danny's Blog was from Josh Lim who said that Advertlets was not closed!! I am glad to hear it.. but i sure do hope that Advertlets fixes its domain problem fast!!!

So what to do?

I didn't want all my web traffic to go do adbaaz.com so the next best thing to do was to go to all my blogs ... sigh one by one .. and remove all the Advertlets code from it!

No choice lor ... it was a painful process .... rather it was long and tedious cos the codes were in some of the Widgets in the Page Element and then there were some codes that was in the HTML section!!!

So aiyoh lah ... step by step have to remove them until it was all gone!!

Otherwise .... if you tried to come to this blog, it would have auto directed you to some funny website on adbaaz!

I do hope that Advertlets fixes the problem fast and that the domain / site will be stable!!

Let's see what happens next!!

New Year Prayer - Joel Osteen (Lakewood Church)

Joel Osteen is the pastor of the largest growing church in USA. He pastors Lakewood Church, where Cindy Cruse Ratcliff and Israel Houghton brings you into God's presence with their anointed worship.

I stumbled upon this video clip where Joel was praying for the church the weekend before Christmas and he prayed a very anointed and powerful prayer over the church. After hearing it the first time, I played back and replayed it again (and tried to capture the prayer in text).

Father I thank you for all that you have done this year.

Lord, You have been good to us. Even for those who have not seen your blessing,in the way we have hope, we know that you are still in control.

We believe that our best days are still right in front of us, that you still have great victories in stored for each one of us.

Father, we choose right now to let go of everything that didn't work out. We let go of every disappointment. Father just stir our faith and we thank Yougot New Seasons in stored for each one of us.

Father I thank you that even today as we are worshipping You, You are making our crooked places straight. You are going before us making rough places smooth.

Password Manager - SPLASH ID for Windows Mobile 6

One of my other hesitation from moving from the Palm OS to the Windows Mobile OS was the fact that i was heavily dependant on several applications on my palm which i really needed!!

Yups.. its not like one of those games ... Bejewelled2 where if u have it or not... can still survive. But this was really a need.

How many of u utilize a Password Manager? I totally use the Splash ID on my palm. It contains ALLLLLL the information i need and its securedly protected.

From my Bank Account numbers to Web Logins to Blood Group ... u name it! All the softwares with their Serials... its all tightly locked up in Splash ID. What's great about it is that its easy to use, and it has a Desktop Software that syncs all the data with your device.

SO guess how happy I was when i found the Splash ID for Pocket PC. I was totally elated and immediately downloaded it from Pocket Gear to test it out. I managed to export all the data out from the Splash ID Palm OS, and i simply imported the data into the Splash ID for Pocket PC .. and all the data and categories just popped out!!

Talk about Coooooolnesss! :)

So if you're looking for a Password Manager ... i strongly recommend Splash ID!! :) And its so convenient if u are doing banking and u have all your info/data with you in your TyTN II!! :)

As you know the the HTC TyTNII comes with a built-in QWERTY Keyboard, and that is extremely useful and fast when sending messages either via SMS or Email.

But one of the BIGGEST sacrifices that i had to mentally prepare myself was that the fact i cannot send an sms with one hand!

The built in applications for HTC TyTNII comes with a Touch Screen Keyboard, Symbol Pad, Scribbler and Transcriber. So for the first 5 days of using the TyTNII i had to keep using two hands to type out smses to friends!! Very irritating if u are waiting in traffic whilst in the car (Don't drive and SMS... :)

I was really glad when Danny showed me his HTC P6300i phone that had a new application installed. After going thru the input series, found out that it was a HTC original application called HTC Phone Pad 1.0

And what the Phone Pad does is that it gives u the option of inputing text/numbers into the phone by using a keypad which is pretty similar to a typical handphone. It has a T9 dictionary and it allows u to type in words the T9 way!

The best part is that the keypad is large enough to fit my thumb and ... YES!! Whilst waiting at the Traffic Light in the car, i will have no problems typing out and sending out SMSes! :) hehe

Talk about Blessings from GOD!! :) Thank U MO for the lovely gift!!!

When we first given a choice for our year end gift, it was supposed to be a HTC P3600i, but on the day we received our gift, it was changed to a TyTN II!! :) [big smile]

Its an awesome gift .. and now i have the biggest headache of migrating my data (Sony Ericsson K750i & Palm LiveDrive) to a Smart Phone!! Pity the OS is totally different and now i have to look for new programs & games for WM6! Anyone out there who knows where i can get nice free games & applications for Windows Mobile 6?

The Day At the Office

We were given this Bag .... so it looks like any other

Handphone shop bag.. and I was like coool! A new toy to play with!

But when i pulled out the Box ... eh... the name different wan?

Oh WOW!! ITs a TyTN II!! Super duper cool!!

Although the TytN II is 40grams heavier than the P3600i, but it has

a built in QWERTY Keyboard and also the license for MapKing GPS!! Woo Hoo!!

Now I would never get lost! :) haha

Oh yeah ... the company was great, it came with a Jabra Headset and a 2GB Card.

OH yes.. the Guess Voucher .. that's actually another story that i've not blogged about yet.

Won a Lucky Draw in our company's recent Annual Dinner!! Will Blog about it once i get all the pics! :)

People of Venture Series : JOSHUA - Your Jericho Will Fall!!!

Glad Tidings Young Adults Service meets regularly each Saturday at 5pm. They started a new sermon series called The People of Venture. In line with this year's Church thrust "Year of Venture", Ps Julie challenged a group of lay people to share their hearts based on different Bible Characters who formed this People of Venture.

The journey started off with Kenneth preaching on Abraham, then by Kim-Ann preaching on Queen Esther, followed by Shahnon & Hwee Yen preaching on Jeremiah and most recently Sean & Leroy on Ezekiel!!

As you can see we had great preachers ahead of us, so when Ps Gwen, Jon Koo and I were grouped together to do Joshua .... it was like ... Oh no!! How ler? What will we say and do? Ps Gwen was the overseer ... and it was basically Jon & I that had to share something from our hearts. (I was thinking i can always share my arteries!!)

First of all when any of the three of us hold mics, we automatically close our eyes and worship (yeah we sort of serve in the worship ministry). So contrary to leading people into the presence of God in worship, how will Jon and I be able to talk for 30 mins non stop and with our eyes opened and hope that a "message" is carried forward?

Weeks leading up to the launch of the People Of Venture, during a Saturday evening - the African Nite itself, the ministry team was already preparing the church for the weeks to come. See how each of the People of Venture stood with their message. (pics courtesy of the-reflector)

So you can imagine the expectation of each church goer of the Young Adults service!! Doesn't this put makes you pray more and get on your knees more??? It sure does! :)

So we prayed and ask God to tell us what can we share? The three of us discussed what we wanted to share on one Sunday afternoon. Ps Gwen helped ensure that we were on the proper path so that we didnt stray. AND of course Jon is already in BCM, so that was a big advantage for us .... yeah soon he will be licensed to Preach!! :)

So all of this lead us to the Big Day on 8 December 2007, where we shared our hearts out on JOSHUA - Your Jericho Will Fall.

the intro
Jon & I decided to have some fun with our Intro, and we called it JOSHUA by NUMB3RS! We basically took different numbers in the life of Joshua and used it as an ice-breaker thingy to get some participation and to also tell a story with the numbers (and answers).

the story
Jon preached an awesome story on the life of Joshua from a baby to a military General. He called it Joshua Rewound, where Jon unfold the story about Joshua's birth place in Egypt, on his influences as he grew up, his mentor (Moses), his love for God and how God shaped him to be the Military General who led the Israelites to Victory!!

the challenge
Ps Gwen came up with the 4Ps of Joshua (scroll down below the video), where we inserted it into my sharing on how Joshua conquered Jericho. And, by applying these 4Ps in your life, your Wall of Jericho (ie Obstacles in Life) can be brought down and no longer be a stronghold in your life. Finally, I ended with Nathanael's testimony on how God touched Nathanael and brought down that "wall". Yups ... that was a moving story!!
[when i was practising at home on what to share, during Nathanael's testimony.... wah liau i cried so much!! So, it was a good thing when i shared it again on the Sat & Sun services .... no more tears!]
After that Ps Gwen took over and Close the Service by challenging the people further on the application of the 4Ps in their lives!! We saw God touching many lives.

This is my first experience in sharing in Church, and we have received some encouraging feedback, therefore I borrowed the video from the AV Team and have provided a low res video copy below so that u can at least visualize the sharing. ENJOY & Be Blessed!!!

Delwin's Wedding Dinner at Malaysia Petroleum Club

What can i say? The MPC or aka Malaysian Petroleum Club (MPC) is one really cool place to be. First of all u need to be a member to be invited up to the 42nd Floor of the Petronas Twin Towers and to have Security Guards flanked at your right and left prior to entering MPC, wah .. quite the canggih nya!!

Before we get all caught up with the wonders of MPC, we would of course wanna say

BIG CONGRATS to Delwin & Gillian for their beautiful Wedding !!

There were two things that we could not stop looking at thru out the night.

First .... the View

Do I choose a HTC P3600i or iPod Touch?

Its coming to the close of the year, and this is the time each year when we have to make really really tough decisions in life! (or so to speak!)

I've been really blest in my company, cos each year the Management would sorta reward all of us with a cool year end present.

This year we had to make One decision out of four gift choices.

Out of the Four, i narrowed it down to either a phone or a music player.

SO what shall it be????

The HTC P3600i : HTC Website

Now the phone looks really cool! Though i always wondered why when HTC took over Dopod, why didn't they retain the name as Dopod? Cos Dopod sounds really much better than HTC. (HTC looks like some chinese dude's initial!! U know like YTL, ESH ... etc)

Anyway ... the engine that's running beneath the skin (of HTC) is still Dopod, so i guess its not really a concern. Unless HTC really increases their A&P expenditure and do more re-branding and re-positioning, then perhaps more people would start "liking" to be associate with a "HTC" phone.

Names aside, I've been using my Sony Ericsson K750i (i love Sony E!!!) but lately it has been giving me lots and lots of problem. The joystick is basically condemn. I cant go up, cant go down... and its so irritating when i am typing an sms and when i want to choose one of the other words that the T9 is suggesting!! sigh!!

So ... the phone is a really strong strong contender!! :) Oh yeah .. the other cool point about HTC P3600i is the fact that it has an inbuilt GPS!! Yeah... that's pretty cooool! :)

The iPod Touch : Apple's Website

I love music .. as u can see from my worship blog. And i've always wanted to have a Music player where i can store all my fav CDs and songs. And Christmas is just around the corner and there are so many many many many coool Christmas CDs to play!!!

Aiyoh .... i know that the iPod Touch is only 16MB in size ... (very few CDs can be put in) .. but the overall look and fell of the player is really way coool! The interface to run and play the songs will be cool, i can carry all my fav songs with me wherever i go and play it on the fly ..........

SO HOW????

That's the dilema I'm in ..... shud i go for the phone or the ipod?

How to Convert Planet Pulse Points to $$$$$ Money?

Have you joined Planet Pulse yet? They are an online Survey company that sends you periodic surveys to complete in your email inbox. I always get excited when a Planet Pulse survey comes in. The best part is because we earn US Dollars for each survey completed.

The highest paying survey i've every received was USD40 (or 400 pulses). Not bad eh? It normally takes about 15-20 mins of your time. Just answer truthfully and flow with the questionaire.

Planet Pulse has a rule that you can only withdraw your pulses (USD) when you have earned over 2,500 pulses (or USD 250). I actually have not checked for a few months and when i checked this week i have over 3,000 pulses!! WOO HOO!!! :) - happiness!

Then i went to the PAYMENT screen, to see how can i bring my USD300+ out?

The only sad thing about Planet Pulse is that it pays out via two sources.

Pay Pal - if you have an active account they can pay direct to your PayPal account. But i was told we (Malaysians) can't withdraw money out of PayPal. So i don't want USD300 to be stucked in Pay Pal

MOL Freedom Card. I was like...... HUH???!!!! What in the world is that.

So the next thing was I googled MOL Freedom and found out that its a EON Bank Prepaid MasterCard co-brand with MOL.

The easiest way to get a MOL Freedom card was to buy one at 7-Eleven. It cost RM25, and that's the charge you will ever pay. There's no more annual fee thingy or any other payment.

Then the MOST important question .. ..... Can i withdraw money from the card? After reading thru the terms of the card online, i found out that you CAN WITHDRAW from the card at any EON ATM machine .. like any regular bank card (link - point 8)

So ... off i went to 7-Eleven. The first 7-Eleven i entered said they were out of MOL Freedom Card. So i had to drive to another one. Finally at the second one, I bought the MOL Freedom Card for RM25.

NEXT (which i now find a pain), i have to get the card activated. You'll have to fill up the form (that's included in the starter pack) and mail it in the provided envelope (postage paid). I spoke to an EON bank staff and they said it will take about a week for the activation process to go thru and once its Activated, i can then withdraw my Pulses (USD) into the Card!!!

I can't wait for that to happen and to withdraw the money out!!! So check out this blog in about 10 days time... hopefully all KAU TIM by then!

I won a Prize at the Sony Ericsson K850i Launch Today

I received an email from Sony Ericsson on 10 November with the subject line claiming that the Sony Ericsson K850i is Here!! (as in, in Malaysia!)

So i was greatly disappointed when i checked at 5 handphone retail counters including a Sony Centre, and they all claimed that the K850i was not available at Malaysia yet. But i kept telling them i receieved this email on the 10th!!

Anyway ..... today i realized that indeed the phone only debut in Malaysia TODAY! Sony Ericsson had a launch for the K850i at Suria KLCC concoure area.

I was glad that i managed to try and handled the real K850i and not those plastic toys that they put on display. The phone was rather heavy, thicker than the usual - due to the 5 megapixels camera phone. But it has this super sleek finish and this amazing luminous green line or velvet blue (if you opt for the other color) running thru the side of the phone casing. I don't really fancy the velvet blue color, as is was rather dull. The green shines out!!

And the software that runs the phone is totally different. Sony Ericsson tried to keep the interface similiar with sone new canggih icons when you click on menu, but now you have a little portion on the base of the screen which is "Touch Screen"!! :)

What really shouts out loud on this phone is the 5 Megapixels Camera. Good quality photos with a Xenon Flash and what's more .... an auto rotate device that rotates the photos depending on how you hold the phone. Smart .....!! Very Smart!!!

The person who was trying very hard to sell me the K850i, said that i could only place my order for the phone today and collect it tomorrow. Otherwise I would have to wait at least a week, before the phone is available at a generic Mobile Phone Retail Outlet.

Okies okies ... you wanted to know how much right? The Sony Ericsson K850i cost RM2199 and all the throw in is a 512MB Memory Stick Micro (M2). Sigh... and i was hoping for a 1 or 2 GB card!

For that price, I believe what you are buying is 80% of having a good quality camera with you at all times, and a phone that can help you make calls and sms!! :)

Oh yes..... and as mentioned. The emcee at the Launch of the phone, was giving out some freebies. He asked his first question ... and i quickly rasied my hand in hope of winning something super duper from Sony Ericsson.

The question was rather easy :

Q: The K850i camera takes photos in how many Megapixels?

I walked straight up to the guy, with my hand raised and said ...

A: 5 Megapixels

Q: You sure its 5.0 megapixels

A: I said YES .. its 5 megapixels

And the emcee handed me this Sony Ericsson gift!! Happiness .. i WON!!

Can you make up what Sony Ericsson gave me for answering that totally difficult question?

They gave me a Sony Ericsson Post-it Pop Up Notes Dispencer!!!

So what do i do with it? Mebbe sell it on ebay for RM50!!!

I think its pronounce "Zee Edge" and i like their concept. You sign in for FREE, and after doing that Zedge would allow you to upload or download ringtones, themes, games, videos for your mobile phones. They even have a forum section for you check out more serious things if you need to.

What i like best is that most of my ringtones or rather message tones (tones for my SMS) are all online. Meaning to say that i normally have the latest and its already online! I think its working really great for Zedge is because people can share their ringtones freely and easily. The interface on the website is also very neat and very well organized.

Finally Discounts for Shell Petrol (Citibank cobrand)

Was really really really (in case u didn't know that i was "really") happy to see a new initiative from Shell & Citibank to work on a Co-Brand card to benefit us consumers.

Prior to this UOB launched their co-brand with BHP Petrol, but i've been an ardent fan of Shell Petrol and was also banking on getting my points up for Bonuslink. So after a long decision and wait for a few months, I actually switched loyalty from Shell to BHP Petrol because i could get a 2.5% rebate using the UOB Card.

So when I saw the ad in the news today ... YAY!! Happiness!!

Gave a call to Citibank to get the "finer details" and here they are.

To enjoy the 5% Rebate from Shell, you need to have a minimum opening Balance of at least RM4000 in your credit card account. Which means they want you to switch your spending to your Credit Card if you are a Cash user, and they want you to spend using only this Credit Card instead of the other 3 credit cards in your pocket. :)

Just received an email with so many yellow peeps on the street. At one glance, I thought it was a new Digi Campaign!!

Then a closer look showed its all the Yellow People campaigning last Saturday in KL. Was pretty amazed that they now have their own website. - www.bersih.org

I think its going rather far fetched when they have a flash picture on the right sidebar of their website to ask the citizens to Tie a Yellow Ribbon round the old oak tr... whoops i mean Tie the Yellow Ribbon round your car and bikes! Anyway .. everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

Bye Bye One Sen Coins ... and its no April's Fool Joke!

Well is official now, we can throw all our One Cent (One Sen) coins away!! As of 1 April 2008 one cent coins will no longer be considered a legal tender in Malaysia!! YAY!!

Then we don't need to pay and carry around one cent coins anymore, not that anyone nowadays carries one cent coins. I think its more of when we go to retail stores or F&B outlets that gives back change ... example here's your change RM10.08 ... what do you do with the Eight Cents?

I think most people don't even keep it anymore!!

Some facts you most probably won't know about the 1 sen coin. Its the longest coin used in Malaysia, which has been in tender for over 162 years. And if you wanna read more about the history of one sen coins, go check out what Danny Tan our numismatist says.

Sun Ho's China Wine Music Video - A Controversy?

A friend called late today to ask us to google "Youtube China Wine". We were like why-la?

Anyway we googled and clicked on the Video "China Wine - SUN aka Geisha Official Release", and discovered that it was Sun Ho's music video with Wyclef Jean. She was dressed in a rather provocative manner with many dancers surrounding her in not much clothes. And we were like ... huh?? Is that Ho Yeow Sun?

Ho Yeow Sun is Pastor Kong Hee's wife. Ps Kong Hee has the largest church membership in Singapore, called City Harvest Church ... with over 24,000 in attendance each week! So when we looked at the video, we were like no-lah.. its not Sun. Then as we kept watching... oh ... it is!

Immediately controversial thoughts slipped through my mind. I was like why-lah... why is she doing a song like this and dressed like that?

So what do you think of the video after watching it?

I remembered reading about Sun's past achievements and also her stand as a Christian. She had several controversies before but she has always stood her ground and proclaim her faith our in the open. And I was determined to find some answers to ensure that I was right about what and why she did the video. After googling some 3-4 times, i found Sun's blog explaining the song China Wine and her explanation was what i expected.

Here are some excerpts of her own explanations of China Wine, I've provided the full links at the bottom.

About the dance and the song “China Wine” …

The dance with the head roll originated from the infamous Jamaican dancehall move called the Dutty Wine. It was Wyclef’s idea to update the move with some Oriental hand movements (as seen in the video’s dance choreography).

The Dutty Wine (which stands for "Dirty Wind") is a song by Tony Matterhorn, a dancehall artist. "Dancehall" is not a place, but a style of Jamaican music and it has also become the name for a dance move where "legs move like a butterfly, and neck and posterior simultaneously rotate". And this dance move has become very popular in the world.

My involvement resulted in the China Wine – which is the Jamaican Dutty Wine infused with some Chinese/Asian elements. So contrary to what some think, China Wine does not refer to Chinese alcohol at all! It is a Chinese variation of Dutty Wine!

My new MV features Wyclef Jean, but also Tony Matterhorn (originator of Dutty Wine) and Elephant Man (another leading dancehall artist). So it is with the endorsement of famous dancehall artists that Wyclef and myself composed China Wine, making it the legitimate successor to Dutty Wine

About pushing my personal “limits” …

I am not for “pushing the limit” just for the sake of doing so. I’ve had super revealing dresses pushed upon me by sponsors for red-carpet events and I’ve had to push them right back at the stylist! But that’s the style and culture of Hollywood. It’s all second nature to them. There’s nothing too sexy or taboo about cleavage, that’s the norm for red-carpet style! (By the way, it is true also for Hong Kong and Taiwan these days!) If anything, I’m the “weird” one over there when I have to explain to them my reservations and restrictions!

Additionally, as a new artist in the US, I’m certainly not able to list out my demands and insist on a set of extreme limits for myself, especially when their culture is so different from ours. But I’m thankful that I have a management team that has been very supportive toward me and my personal beliefs, even when this results in differing opinions with them at times. They are the experts of what would work in the US. Even then, what works for them does not necessarily always work for me! So we’ve learned to talk, communicate and accommodate one another. I’m very happy with this arrangement.

Making these two music videos has pushed my limits, especially after 5 albums where I was packaged as a much quieter artist. Not only have I been challenged to dance the best I ever had, I’ve also been challenged in my stage presence and acting skills!

About the China Wine video and my different image from my past videos …

There’s a huge fundamental difference in the tastes between the US and Chinese music markets. It wasn’t intentional for me to “break out of my old image” … it was a necessity if I am to be at all relevant to the listeners there. Honestly, I had loads of reservations during the planning for the shoot and fittings with the video stylist, Petra, who also co-designs for Gwen Stefani. The production team and my management addressed all my personal concerns as well as their own (with regards to the effectiveness of the video in the US market), and the video you see is the result of that. I personally am very proud of the video and the effort that all parties involved put into its production.

About 2 months prior to filming, I had almost daily dance practices with one of reggae-rapper Sean Paul’s principal dancers. She is also my choreographer and has become a close friend. She taught me reggae and Jamaican dance styles and I’ve had to move muscles I never knew I even had!! You cannot believe how sore I was after just my first week of grueling practices! But again, I appreciate the challenge! I may not be any expert yet, but I’m excited to learn more and to stretch myself artistically.

About comments toward China Wine – Hot or Slutty?

The micro hot-pants and what we wore in the video are really more covered than what most girls are wearing today when they go to the gym! There is really nothing so shocking about them. I was truly shocked when, for my concert in Taiwan to plug my Embrace album, my Taiwanese stylist gave me a costume with even shorter shorts and I had to get them lengthened! That was so funny …

I am neither conservative nor liberal. I am just like any other contemporary girl living in the 21st century. I love many kinds of music and I want to express myself through both heartwarming ballads as well as fast-paced dance numbers. I’m also very much into fashion, and I like to look trendy and hip. I just believe that my whole “package” as an artist – which includes my music, dancing, dressing and performances – should be relevant to the modern, sophisticated and cosmopolitan society we live in.

About my creative control over the China Wine video …

I have “100% creative control” in the sense that I wasn’t forced by anyone to do anything against my will. Wayne is one of the nicest directors I’ve ever worked with. He would share his ideas for my role in the video and ask me if I was confident to pull it off. I told myself, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with the “best of the best” in the US music industry! You can be sure that I was going to give it my best shot. I mean how many people in the world even get the chance to do that?

Even though I’m a new artist there, the Americans work in an environment where we are all free to be creative. Everyone feels like a part of the team. Everyone’s ideas are valued. The entire production is only achievable because every person in the group plays their part incredibly well! For me, I was eased into the role because there was such an environment to work in. Wayne, Wyclef and my management provided me with the necessary coaches to help me pull off a very difficult and different act from what I have been used to. In the end, everyone is very proud of what we have achieved together! And everyone is very excited that the buzz around China Wine is growing day by day!

About my faith and the supposed “Buddha hand clasp” in the China Wine video …

Once again, the critics prove that they can turn nothing into something! ?

Indians and Thai people of all religions often clasp their hands in greetings. (My pastor often clasps his hands when he says hi to others!)

I am a Christian on and off stage. Whether I am a singer, counselor, dancer or actress, it doesn’t change what I believe in.

Never once did anyone on the entire production team (which included a number of Asians) ever think that any of the hand actions represent any religious movement. The dance steps were choreographed by an atheist who based her choreography on what she knew about the Asian culture. The handclasp is a familiar action in Thai, Japanese and other Asian cultures. She’s seen it in numerous non-religious Asian dance shows that she researched on specifically for the choreography of China Wine. There was absolutely nothing religious about those moves. Ha-ha, if it hadn't been mentioned it, this would never have even crossed my mind!

So after reading what Sun was trying to address, I am glad i found her blog and
that she was sharing so openly about it! I am really proud of Sun and for all
the different barriers she has broken in China and Taiwan and to reach out to
many young people!!! AND I pray that God will continue to bless and use her to
touch more lives and to reach out further - where normal believers can't. :)

Bonuslink Bejewelled E-Game - I scored 225 points!

I just logged in this morning and tried the Bonuslink E-Game. Its totally similiar to the all loved Bejewelled game, except that instead of jewels you see logos of Bonuslink's sponsors!

You just need to log in and register (need to have Bonuslink Number) and then you all set to play. They give you 3 levels, and each must be completed in 30 seconds! So match 3 or more tiles either horizontally or vertically and get points!!

In my lame attempts this morning, i scored 225 points!! I will definitely play again and see if I can get some higher points!! I think Bonuslink should make it more competitive and highlight the Top 3 Highest Points for the day, so that we all know how much we need to "beat" in order to score some big reward with Bonuslink!!

Why wait ONE month for your Google AdSense Checks? ONE DAY Cukup!

When i first received an email from Inside Adsense about the new payment method via Western Union from Google Adsense, I was rather in doubt!! So far all the adsense checks that I received have just been dumped into the closest Maybank Check Deposit Machine.

And yes... for those of you who have been doing a similiar thing, the flow of events happened like this

25 Sep : Google Adsense issues check
8 Oct : We receive the Adsense Check in Malaysia via mail
9 Oct : Drop the Check in Maybank Check Deposit Machine
6 Nov : The USD is converted into Ringgit and deposited into my account

Yeah it normally takes more than one and half months to get our money processed and converted from USD to Ringgit!! That is way tooooo long!!

So when i read that we now have a chance to speed up the entire exchange and conversion process, wah liau... i changed the payment type immediately from check to western union!!

Today, was the first time that we used the Western Union payment from Google Adsense. It was so simple. Unbelivable!!

25 Oct : Google Adsense Payment is paid
The next day ... just drop to one of our local Malaysian bank that has Western Union and just fill up the Bank's Western Union form and you will get your money immediately.

I actually forgot that the payment came in on the 25th, so I only went to the Bank today. Since i was at the KLCC area, i popped over to the RHB Bank at Suria KLCC.

Before going out to the bank, i clicked on the Google Adsense Payment History and printed out the current month's payment details.

Then at RHB, i just filled up the Western Union "To Receive Money" Form and handed it to the bank teller together with my IC. And in 10 mins he called me to collect my cash in Ringgit!!! Yes that was it!! So so so simple and guess what?? You don't need to pay the "check transaction fee" that Maybank always charges!! AND AND .... RHB can collect Bonuslink points too for Western Union cash transfers!! :) hehe

SO now you must be wondering how do i switch the Google Adsense payment from Check to Western Union??

Simple :

Sign in to your account at www.google.com/adsense.
Visit the My Account tab.
Click the 'edit' link adjacent to the 'Payment Details' header.
Select the Western Union Quick Cash radio button.
Click 'Continue'.
Click 'Save Changes' to save your payment type.

So once you have set up your Google Adsense Account as above, then all you need to do when you next receive your Adsense payment is to :

Go to a Malaysian Bank that has Western Union (Locate one near u)
Bring the following info with you

Your IC (or valid government-issued photo ID (Passport, Driver's license, National ID etc)
Sender's information: Google Inc. 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043, USA. Phone Number: 650-253-4000
Amount of your payment, which you can find on your Payment History page
Your unique MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number) which you can find by clicking on the 'details' link next to the Payment Issued line on your Payment History page
(Actually all you need is your IC and Print the "Payment Issued Line", and that will have the MTCN number and Google's address and that's done!)

My suggestion to you guys who receive Google Adsense checks ... Do switch from Check to Western Union, cos it realy speeds up the whole process!! Hope u find the above experince useful!

We have Moved!!

We have MOVED!! YAY!!!

The day has finally come and we have moved.

The ideas was to move before Hari Raya, so that we will have time to unpack after!

Thankfully it was a bright and cherry morning.

The truck arrived (spot it in between the rooftops of our condo).

And was ready to be loaded up

For those of you who find our moving experience satisfactory.

Here's a bit of advertising for them.

The dude's name is Aman and was recommend by Sean.

They came upstairs and help us to disassemble the big stuff

They took down the TV and the Home Theatre System and the TV Cabinet.

Do u remember as a kid .. u always like to burst those bubble wraps?

Well they had like ONE GIGANTIC Buble Wrap rolled up.

And thankfully they were wrapping up all our AV equipments one by one!

They came prepared with their necessary tools and even Ikea Allen Keys

So we didn't need to provide them anything.

They just took apart the cabinet in minutes

See all the stuff so nicely wrapped! :)

We also had to clear our Wardrobes, and it was goodbye to

our old room ...... so sad.

The room was in a mess as you can see.

Lots of boxes with all of our clothes.

And there they go. The movers starting moving things

out of the house.

EEEEK!! The hall is BARE!! Everythings is gone!

It was good that our unit was located next to the Bomba lift.

Cos it was easier and faster for them to move things down by the big loads!

All the Boxes started coming down and they started filling their

little 2-tonne lorry!

When the bigger things came down, I was glad to see them stacking them

neatly and in order, so that more things can enter into the lorry.

This is how Zoe's cot looks like when its all stripped apart.

They also helped reduce our Comptuer Table (which is the Ikea's Jerker Table)

from its massive size to this small little pieces of wood and metal!

The lorry was packed to the brim with stuff

They had to brings things out twice cos they have huge

trolleys to fill.

Yup.. we also used our car to help ferry some things over!

As u can see the Serena was jam packed with the smaller stuff! :)

Thankfully the MOVING part was all done on that ONE DAY!

It was crazy and tiring ... but done!!

And now the dreading thing begins ... unpacking ...

Fireworks @ Ikano + Merdeka Traffic Jam @ Persiaran Surian

Happy Merdeka everyone!!!

We witnessed some happening fireworks from Ikano!! The fireworks lit up the sky for about 12-15 mins. We did not want to go anywhere near Ikano or The Curve area, we had frens telling us how bad the traffic was to get there.

We Painted Our Rooms on Sunday

Who would ever imagine that I would lift a finger to paint the house? haha! My concept is .. pay someone and get someone to paint it lah :)

We ended up painting TWO feature Walls in our bedrooms yesterday. It was kinda fun!

Actually its not too difficult. It is definitely easier than painting

with paint brushes and that the roller really keep the paint even on the wall!

Yes we did our GRAFITTI in our Bedrooms.

:) haha the only time we can do it without any worries!

Emily also helped with the Painting ....

Eunice was cool ... she did the Best job!

She help remove all the paint from spots where it was not to be painted.

Thankfully the paint was water based, so just wipe it away with a cloth! KEWL!

Ben was helping us in the Kitchen to fill up

holes in the walls (recent hacking) with some PollyFilla! :)

TA DAH!! Not bad hor? The room is all painted in Yellow!

What might those poles be u may be asking?

Its actually the "skeleton" for our LACK Bookshelf (from Ikea) .

And of course if you were to slide in the Lack Bookshelf like I did,

its very easy to get PAINT on your Head!!!!

We didn't remove the Plastic Covering from the Lack Bookshelves

So just to give u a glimpse of how it would finally look once we move in!

OH YES ... apart from Paint on my head ..

YES ... it was real work .. there was paint all over my hands!! :)

LOUSY Service

LOUSY! LOUSY!! LOUSY!!

Horrible service! We have been ordering RO water from this company called Zone Way Marketing for the past 4 years.

Initially their service was really good hence we kept them as our RO water supplier lor. BUT!!!! BUT!! Dunno what happen to them la the past few times has been especially HORRIBLE!

Actually it has been bad since the beginning of 2007! Instead of getting better they got worst & worst! Aiyoh

1st Bad experience :- Called to order water. They said ok we will send it in 2 days. 1 week passed and still no water, Despite me calling them daily. They said sure send today but each time.....NO WATER!!

Later I called to give them a piece of my mind,..they said oh so sorry madam we are short of staff! I was like is that my problem? U have delayed my water supply for the past 1 week.

2nd Bad experience:- Ordered water & they delievered without calling me. I stay in a condo.....which means I do not have storage space....I told them pls call me so that I can return the empty bottles to them...............simple instructions right? THEY CALLED and I told them I am just 5 minutes away.....wait for me........I arrived home to find 7 bottles of water sitting at my door way! I was furious! I just spoke to them and told them to wait! THEY LEFT!! What's wrong with this people? So I am left with 9 empty bottles!

So I call them again and say cqn your delivery truck turn back and collect the empty bottles? They said can can no problem........just leave it outside & we will collect it............and so it was left outside for 8 days la!

3rd Bad experience :- Order water again.....and told them please call me before U send the water as I won't be home. Told them call me & I will make my way back to receive the delivery! 5pm in the evening NO CALL from them. So I called Zone Way and a lady answered the phone & says...dun worry water will come & they will call U first before sending!

Come 6pm,7pm,8pm no calls.........and when I arrived back home this is what I found! 6 bottles of water just left outside my door! What kind of a service is this? I have had several other incidences with them la.....I won't bother going into it....I am sure U get the picture.

LOUSY SERVICE! So people if U're looking to order water........RO Water..........dun dun DUN order from Zone Way Marketing! Otherwise U'll leave to regret it!

SIGH! I never wanted to go public with this but they never learn!

The Kitchen SET UP - Part One

Our current Kitchen is actually very very small. Actually pretty good for me, cos i ain't no cook! But the typical question that most people have ... eh .. i thot u went to study Hotel Management, didn't they teach u how to cook??

Sigh ... and my typical response to the boring question ... Yes i went to study Hotel MANAGEMENT, i Manage the people to get things done not COOK IT!!! HA ha ha ha! :)

Well. . coming back to the Kitchen. So in our new place ..the Kitchen will actually look much bigger, and we have told the Kitchen company to try and maximize as much space as possible. (Hope we don't regret the "boxed-in" feeling after its all done up).

So the KITCHEN Set Up was rather interesting, cos it has so many parties involved. I never did realized that one skilled worker actually may not or even do not know how to do another skilled person's task. Example, on the day of the Kitchen Cabinet Set Up, none of them knew how to set up the Sink and Taps! (Or so they tell me!)

THE KITCHEN SET UP - PART ONE

This is our Kitchen, with the original sink set up.

Was pretty glad that they highligted some colors in the Kitchen

by having different tiles direcly centred in the Kitchen.

Three Workers came to set up the Kitchen in our new place.

You can see they were rather considerate to put a tarp on the floor

to prevent from damaging our tiles. :) GOOD ONE!

I never understood why they never used a trolley to

bring all the stuff up! The three guys carried everything up from the

Lorry to the Unit!! KRAZY!!! Strong .. but Krazy!

They went thru the Kitchen Plans prior to doing anything.

I appreciated that, cos then whatever questions, I was there to tell how it was suppose to go.

Similiarly to the Bonanza Wardrobe, they worked on the Kitchen Cabinets,

sawing and cuting all the edges that didnt' fit.

And it was rather quick when i started seeing 10%, 20%, 30% of the

Kitchen coming to fruition.

We had shelves built in on the TOP as well as at the Bottom,

yups .. wanted to maximize on all SURFACE area to keep things tidy!

They were really professional in handling the Kitchen cabinets.

They joined them and drilled them on with total ease!!

At soon as the Kitchen Cabinets were in place, another

Team of workers came in to measure the Counter Top.

PART ONE of the Kitchen ..... Kitchen Cabinets are all in place.

Now ready for the Cabinet Doors and Marble Counter Top!!!

Sadly ... our door color ran out of stock, so we have to wait a week plus for the

next shipment to come in! So we have come door-less kitchen now! :)

Mirror Mirror on The Wall!!!

I love Mirrors!! I simply love Mirrors! :)

I like them BIG, shining, borderless and lots of them! :)

I just wanted to share with you an excellent Mirror that we bought from IKEA.

When we initally asked for a quote for a Bathroom Mirror from Wall to the Shower Screen (Remember I like BIG MIRRORS!), a contractor quoted us over RM1000+. :(
Yes, I was really shocked at the high price. Since it was so expensive, we decided to forego the Big Mirror and just buy a small one from Ikea or one of those Bath shops! :(

AND THEN!!! When we went shopping at Ikea last weekend, we found this PERFECT Mirror at Ikea.

Its called a HOVET Mirror and the measurement is 78cm x 196cm. Its simply Perfect !!

Its as if Ikea has made the Hovet specially for us

The cost is RM315 .. (3 times cheaper)

The Hovet actually stretches from the Wall to the Shower Screen with about 3 inches to spare. And it has a good height too.

So we asked one of our contractor to help set it up today .. and its just PERFECT

What I Like About Moving to a New Home

There are lots of cool stuff that happens when moving to your own place, and if its new! One of it is the SHOPPING!! The ability to buy things that you want to set in your home!! Of course u need the money first .. otherwise u can't do the shopping :)

The other thing that fascinates me is to see the Contractor build things! I mean as a kid most of us have the benefit of playing with LEGOs and to construct and to build! And being the person that I am, which is piqued to always find out "HOW did they do this?" How did they ensembled that whole thing into that tiny room?" so i've been recording some stuff as Contractors build things in our new home.

This is how it all looked like in the beginning. Scraps of WOOD

of varying sizes placed in the corridor of our Condo.

There was just TWO guys (so amazing). Each took a room

and they just started drilling and knocking away.

This guy build that Long Wardrobe in 10 mins!

(I remembered when i last try building a wardrobe (ikea) with Raymond,

i think it took us more than 3 hours!!)

I love the Power Drills that they had. In total they had TWO.

Drill One : Drilling Holes

Drill Two : Drilling in the Screws

And because they were so good with their tools, the cupboards were just

built so so so fast. And the guys were just working non stop like busy bees.

He finished the main wardrobe in no time at all.

See the bigger wardrobe on the Left, and he did it by himself!

I was like .. whoa .... so coool!

Finally he called his co-worker to help set up the Top Shelve

TA DAH!! The Wardobe was in place.

AND Then i started asking ... how come this DOESN'T look

like what i ordered from the Company???? I don't remember it being so WHITE.

Hahaha ...then the guy came in again, this time carrying in the

"Cover" for the Wardrobe. Walnut Brown .. yeah .. that's more like it.

And he added the Walnut Wooden covering all around

the Wardrobe ... now it begins to look nice.

The co-worker was screwing in all the hinges

to the doors. And it all look so effortless ....

This took a while .... Initally i was wondering what was he building.

Then as it came together, ohh.... the Drawers!!

The good thing was that they did most of their "dirty" work outside

at the corridor. So the home was clean. (Yes they swept up their stuff!)

The doors were added to the Wardrobe.

See the two shelves on the Bottom Right!! Nice?

AND Finally ..... the Wardrobe was completed.

It took them over 6 hours to complete TWO wardrobes

of similiar proportions. I am just amazed at how fast and

how efficient they were in working and getting the wardrobe built

... just like that ...

Was reading thru Star Online and Guess What? Not suprisingly, SEX SELLS!! I think Star Online gets more than a million readers daily on their website and guess what are the top news read today on the e-paper?

Ta Dah .... zoomed in for you on what's MOST READ on Star Online. Its always about Sex / Sex Related news.

The first one is bride raped. Second one is Sex Clip. Fifth one is on Rape again. Ninth one is on some Gender-Sex Study and Tenth one is on Abortion!! Wah Liau!!

The Top Five news out of all the HUNDREDs of news in Star are all SEX RELATED!! Sigh!! Actually it also goes to say that it seems that's what Readers want to read nowadays!! I am sure this post on PPS will also garner lots of hits too . . cos they see "SEX" on the Post Line.

What will be interesting to know is what's the gender breakdown of the TOP 10 news on Star Online. Mebbe its gonna show that 60-70% will be guys!! But then again i could be wrong! Mebbe its 90%!! :) haha

Church on the Internet

I am so blest that via the Internet I don't get to miss Church.

I tried contacting some peeps to find a good charismatic church to attend on Sunday. However I didnt get any response from any of them.

But thankfully with the internet I can still worship along and listen to the Word online.

I visited City Harvest's website and found a recent sermon by Dr Peter Wagner on "Church in the Work Place".

City Harvest worship was great and even their announcement was fantastic on the recent Emerge Youth Conference! SO exciting. And Dr Wagner's lesson on Church in The Work Place was really really good. Left me wanting to heard the next session's as well, but unfortunately that was not uploaded online.

Some salient points I caught

We are the Church. The Ekklesia = which means People of God
The Church takes on Two Forms, The Nuclear (People of God in the Church) and The Extended (People of God in their Workplace)
All of us have a role to play as the Church in the Workplace
We need to Rise Up and Activate our Roles in our Workplace
In the end we should see the People of God doing a Social Transformation!

There are loads of great points, U will need to watch the Sermon online and catch what Dr Wagner was sharing.

The Video that you stream from CHC's website is the entire Church Service ... of all the Worship Session, Offering, Announcement, Word and even Altar Call. So it makes you feel part of the entire church service! Cooool! :)

Who Touched My Bum?

In my visit to Manila, I see a central theme by all Security Guards at the Mall. The theme centres around them using their right hand to touch your upper part of your backside each time you walk through the doors of the shopping mall!! HUH!?!?!?!

This is a TRUE STORY, they do use their hands to touch every guy who walks thru the door. I didn't really observe what the female security guard was touching. BUT for a fact, each Shopping Centre would have a LARGE Expense budget for Security, cos they are so many of them around. Its just like Mickey Mouse in Disneyland. (U do know that there are a couple of Mickey Mouses in Disneyland at one given time rite??)

You see the Security Guards everywhere. They are dressed smartly

in a white pressed uniform and with a Hat.

They stand guard at all Mall Entrances and ensures

that no "bomb" or "weapon" is smuggled into the Malls.

Thus enabling the Malls to be safe for visits by the locals and tourists.

One of the things that they do is they would touch your upper backside.

Check out the right arm of the Male Security Guard!

U see him again now touching a man in a Green Tee!

AND Again for each person that comes in!!

** At this point don't you realize that if any terrorist would to come in into

a shopping mall in Manila, would hide their weapon somewhere else???!!! **

I Love Shopping in SM Mall of Asia

I Love SHOPPING

What was my point again? Oh yes... there were LOTS of SALES!!!!

They should start one shoppingNsales concept in Manila too! :)

Thot it was quite unique that HUMANs were for Sale in Manila

And that after flying so many thousands of miles, Marks & Spencer uses the same

"SALE" concept as Malaysia. Mannequins wearing "Sale" Tee Shirts.

Did I already mentioned that Manila is on SALE?

Hahaha .... lots of great stuff found in Manila.

To be honest all the stuff bought was for dear Nathanael and Zoe Joy.

Missed them so much ... the baju lah was cheap... cos was hunting for those 50% off,

70% Disounts .... and there were quite a couple!! :)

Hmmm... something tha Malaysia don't have anymore.

Pringles Barbeque Flavour.

Really wan!! If u go to a mall in Malaysia, you will only

find a BBQ Mesquite which taste horrible!!

Manila's infamouse Preserved Mangoes was a STEAL at SM Department Store.

They have one section called SNACK Exchange which allows u to get all their

goodies and yummy snacks. :)

Bought a Bag Tag each for Nathanael and Zoe Joy. I just loved the

concept that you can put any design and name to it.

Makes it all personalized! And all kids nowadays have their own bags!

This is really such a great idea.

Asia's Biggest Mall - SM Mall of Asia

Today we had a great time shopping and walking thru the "self proclaimed" largest mall in Asia, known as SM Mall of Asia. SM seems to be big in Manila. I see SM everywhere, its like your upscale Metrojaya, cos they have a Departmental Store, a Electronic Store, a SM Hypermarket and some other strange spin off!!!

The Ocean View

YES!!! A unique selling point of SM Mall of Asia is the

Ocean Boulevard.

There are restaurants that faces the sea, and there's also a walkway

that leads you up to the beach front of the sea.

The Mall as u can see its long, and only 2 storeys in height.

The Beach area is currently being developed. We see lots and lots of

Trees planted to create the tropical beach effect and there are lots

of new stores being built along the beach front!! Great making money idea! :)

And yes, which mall nowadays don't have a Skating Rink.

The SM Mall of Asia comes with the usual, Cineplexes, Bowling Lanes

and of course IMAX Theatre!!!

The Shopping Mall is HUGE! And there were just so so so so many

people walking the mall. Reminded me of Mega Mall's lower floor where

it was just a SEA of people all around.

It was a brilliant idea to have inflatibles for kids! Lots of parents sent their

kids to play at the inflatables areas. :)

Lots of Food Outlets and of course a Food Court with yummy food.

One other COOOOL things about SM Mall of Asia was that they featured a BAND to play to the shoppers in the evening. Check out this short Video of the Marching Band.

Here are some interesting shops that I saw at the Shopping Malls in Manila which I've not noticed in Malaysia yet. Perhaps some entrepreneur would like to bring this back to Malaysia.

with a Chicken dressed as a Cowboy.

Most interestingly its called CHURCH Chicken. Mebbe because

Philippines is a Christian nation, mebbe that's why CHURCH Chicken works! :)

Mebbe Malaysia should be Surau Chicken or Masjid Chicken! :)

A Picture Retail Outlet to take pics of Kids and Family! So CooooL! :)

Blogged about this on the first day. A Hair Salon for Kids! I think it will

really work in Malaysia! And it should be set up in a MALL, and not a stand alone Salone

by the road or in the SS2 square area! Shopping Mall would reap better benefits !!

OOOOOOOhhhhhh I think I Should Start This!!

Its called BAG TAGs and all they do is just produced Tags for your Bags

using Disney Characters. They are quite updated, cos there was a logo of Ratatouille too.

And it was pretty decent to create one, and whilst we were there, the queue of people

creating tags never did stop! :)

In Malaysia's Malls .... we have lots of Waffle this, Waffle that.

But we don't have real Crepes (pronounced "Crap").

Check out the yummylicious Crepes with Ice Cream and sumptious toppings.

Ha ha Ha!! For those with a good & lame humour

This retail outlet may just work. Its just plain tee shirts

with SPOOF names. Like instead of FEDEX, its FEDUP

and of course some vulgarities were thrown into the Tees..

which i have so cleverly censored from this blog! :)

And MY MOST MOST Fav Idea ......

which i doubt will ever work in Malaysia.

How Bad is 4 - 4 - 4 - 4 - 4 in One Day

As u know the number Four (4) in Cantonese is pronounced "Sei", which is also the same meaning as "Death" in Canto. So the Chinese don't really like the number 4 very much!

Well we had an interesting number of FOURs yesterday at the Glorietta Mall.

We watched the Die Hard 4.0

at Glorietta 4

and on the 4th Floor,

in Cinema 4

on the 4th of August!!

Ha ha ha!!

Its was a Brilliant non-stop, hard impacting show ... that Bruce Willis

couldn't DIE despite all the bombs, missles and guns used against him!! ??!!!

We managed to find a Food Court in Glorietta 4.

Which help save some money for makan makan.

And quite a lot of choices too..

Missing Chinese Food already on my second day in Manila.

So had to eat something chinisey.

Lots of offers, and the price was pretty decent at Magic Wok

Wanted to try their Ku Loh Yok (Sweet & Sour Pork)

But they only had Sweet and Sour Chicken.

Let me just say that the little bowl of soup tasted much

better than my main meal!! Sigh!!

At Mandarin Oriental Manila

I'm currently staying at the Mandarin Oriental, Manila. Its a nice hotel in the Makati area of Manila. The hotel on the whole is a bit aged, but the service delivery is great.

The Mandarin Oriental Manila is a 400+ rooms.

This is a nice garden display of the signature logo of the

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group ... the 11 bladed fan

One thing I personally don't like about the uniforms is

that the Golden FAN at the collar is so HUGE!!!

Love the food served at the Paseo Uno.

This is the typical Hotel's Coffee House.

WHY? Cos they serve REAL Bacon and Pork Sausages..... ooooh Yummy!!

What's also cool about the Dessert Station is that they

have TWO Chocolate Fountains.

One Dark Chocolate and the other White Chocolate!

Manila DAY 1 : Glorietta & SM Shopping

Arrived in Manila today without an event.

The plane was rather empty and i had a row of 4 seats all to myself! :)

Love that!!

The first nite in Manila.

Popped over to Glorietta ..... a large shopping mall

Similar style to Sungei Wang... low ceiling but lots of small shops

but they have some pretty decent reatil outlets too!!

Dinner was at Kenny Rogers .... .BUT

.. but Kenny Rogers in Manila has PORK!!

Yes.... super yummy Ribs!! :) Woo Hoo!!

It was YummY!!

I thot this was a GREAT IDEA!!! Don't remember seeing anything like

this in Malaysia. A salon that only cut hair for kids!!

Walked over to the newer mall to do some shopping

in the Supermarket. Its none other than SM.

Your name is not on our Flight Reservation

When I arrived at KLIA this morning, I was confused by the Electrical Board that shows the Departure Time and the Check In Counter.

U know that feeling rite? U walk in, into KLIA ... look around ... A B C D E F G ... err which row should i venture to? So no choice... stare up at the Electric Board lor.

The Electric Board shows planes departing from KLIA and now also includes flights departing from LCCT. So the list was really long. So it took me a while to actually find the MH 704 flight to Philippines.

Finally .... saw it in the corner .... check in at ROW C.

GOT A SHOCK when I arrived at Row C!!

There were sooooooo many people lining up to check in at Row C (Which is also the generic MAS Check In section). The line was snaking back two rows, I peered to the left and saw that the MAS Domestic line was WORST!

I cannot believe it that despite the queue being so long, out of 13 Counters available at Row C, only TWO .... and i repeat TWO were open to help us check in! How Can?

I commented to my colleague, maybe if they open all 13 counters and check us all in so fast, then KLIA will look like there's no crowd!! Sigh!!

Well the BIGGEST SIGH came when we finally reached the Check In Counter. Which took about 18 minutes of lining up to reach. The lady that was checking in took a long time. A much much longer time than usual. So i couldnt help but asked...

me : Is there a problem?

MAS : Umm ... i can't find your name on our Flight Reservation

me : Huh? But you are holding my Airline Ticket!

MAS : ummm.. yes.. did you book thru an Agent?

me : Yes yes.. my company's travel agent handles our ticketing. BUT how can i be holding a Ticket and not be listed in your flight reservaiton?

MAS : umm .. unintelligible .... always like that one booking with Travel Agent ...

me : Is this a Full Flight?

MAS : Found a seat for you ... and No its not a full flight.

YIKES!! How can like that one? If it was a full flight to Manila surely will be deferred to the next day cos MAS / Philippines Airlines code shares and flies once a day! Thankfully we made it into the plane!

Received a VIRUS File via MSN Messenger

Wah liau!! This must be something new where viruses are being sent via MSN Messenger and without the contact person aware!

Well .. as usual the MSN popped up with a message from a friend, as usual.

And in the Message, was a short message to accept a picture file transfered via MSN.

Well that would be like all other messages that we receive on MSN rite? The only thing is that Rachel hardly sends me photos, or should i correct it, Rachel doesn't send me photos.

All our MSN discussion was always work related. That's when i got suspicious (plus i just spoke to an IT expert two weeks ago about virus sent via MSN ... so it was weird to really see it happening). So I accepted the zip file, and quickly sent an email to Rachel.

Did u just send me something via MSN .... ?? I think its a Virus!

No ar! Don't open it! I received this file from another user too. Our IT colleague is scanning the virus in our computer now.

So thankfully ... i didn't open the MSN attachment!! So guys .. be careful cos a file transfer can be sent via MSN from a contact that you may know .. but its actually not from them!!

>> Was in discussing this with an Singapore IT expert two weeks ago, and he mentioned that he has seen this happening on MSN Messengers and what's happening is that someone is hijacking the messages from one person to another and using the other person's name and info to send virus/attachments out!! He said .. remember MSN Messenger is running on an unsecured platform!!

What to do in MANILA???? HELP!!

This is a totally unexpected trip. Our company is under going a huge change in the Professional Management System from the Fidelio System to Par Springer Miller System (PSMS). Its a super duper huge project. Being in the Core team .... has been so far pretty interesting, cos we get to set it up for the entire company!!

Anyway two of us will be sent to Manila to observe how Mandarin Oriental, Manila underwent the entire process of change and transition to PSMS. It will be rather non stop, cos there will be tons and tons of questions on How did u do this? Why did u do that? What has the change incurred? What are the new processes? ... and la di da and lad di di!!!!

The really POSTIVE note is that ... we will get to stay at one of the best hotels in Manila .... the Mandarin Oriental of course !!!

Cantik or not their Room?

So the trip will be from this Friday (3 Aug) to next Thursday (9 Aug). Yups ... its a really long time to be away from the family and kids!! Don't really wish for that to happen, but unfortunately the timing is as such.

Will update more ....... sooon!

ANYONE .... what to do in Manila? (not that we have a lot of time) Heard that we should buy Mangoes .. as in Preserved Mangoes!! Hmmm ... any suggestions?

I DISLIKE Collecting Mails from Pos Laju

I find this really really irritating!! I dunno why Pos Laju works this way, .... but each time when they try and send things to our home, and if we're not in, they would redirect the Pos Laju item to ..... SHAH ALAM!!

AIYOH!! How can it be so so far? So three days ago we received this Pos Laju slip. Called the Pos Laju Shah Alam on Friday and they said the would move it to the Brickfields Pos Laju by Sunday.

Meanwhile .. i was like .. who is mailing me Pos Laju stuff? Its so irritating, cos have to go and collect it from their office. I was like.... it better be a nice thing ..... and not some junk mail by a bank or credit card.

So on Sunday evening, i thot, hmmm i've got some time to spare, why don't i go pick it up. Drove all the way to Brickfields, .... brave the traffic jam in Bangsar (yes .. jam at 7ish on a Sunday nite!) and when I reached Pos Laju at Brickfields ..... guess what? TUTUP!!!! SIGH!!

Really one. .. SIGH!!

I was thinking, this Pos Laju thingy better be goooood!

Then today whilst at the office, i received a call .. .guess who? Josh called to see if we have received the Advertlets check and the pressies. I was like .. No .. not yet. U mean Advertlets have sent something?

Then the Light Bulb lit, Josh ... did u by any chance send the Advertlets check via Pos Laju this time?

OOooooh, and found out that was the "THING-lah" that's been causing so much grieve to collect the past days!

Josh ... thank you for the check. I mean ... GOOD THING it was a check that i was collecting and not some other flyers or brochures!! :)

Sigh .... this is so so so so sad wan ....

I wonder why our website is down. Its hosted by Emerge, and their site is running fine. Just dropped them an email and also a Live Chat service thingy on their website.

Hmmm ... if this happens again, mebbe shud take up on Nuffnang Offer and use Exabytes. But just that Exabytes is based in Penang.... but for online services, i guess distance is not a subject to be concerned of!!

Sigh .. i wonder how long this downtime will be .....
